CASE STUDY
UCI Cycling World Championships (Dumfries)
During the UCI Cycling World Championships, Fibairo deployed a high-capacity wireless network to support global broadcast coverage of para-cycling events in Dumfries.
Working in collaboration with The Crichton Trust, a temporary mast was installed at the Crichton Memorial Church — a landmark building dating back to 1897 — providing an elevated position for signal distribution.
The Challenge
Rural and distributed event location
High bandwidth demand for live broadcast
Requirement for rapid deployment
Limited existing infrastructure
The Solution
Temporary high-capacity wireless mass deployment
Point-to-point link spanning over 3km
Integration with local infrastructure
Stable high-throughput connectivity across the event footprint
The Outcome
Sustained speeds exceeding 700 Mbps
Reliable live broadcast streaming to global audiences
Seamless coverage of para-cycling events
Demonstrated capability to deliver infrastructure in challenging environments
